I'll admit that I don't entirely get it - Amazon charges for that book - but I imagine that I might. And I'm glad I'm a paid subscriber.

No worries! I'm the author, and I'm not even sure if I fully get the story :D

That actually is part of why I write.

But yes, it would be a big help to any reader to read the story it is referring to.

Part of what I am doing by referencing these very old and obscure stories in creative ways is to get new attention on them- even in the very specialized Flann community, this story is not read or commented on too often relative to his other works, partly since it is one of his younger works and partly because it was in Irish only for a long time. Slowly but surely, great scholars from the International Flann O'Brien Society and related experts are steadily making his work more accessible to global audiences My obfuscations do not help, admittedly, but I am not out to teach but to create something new.
