The History Section of The Traveller’s Literary Supplicant is the part of the newsletter exploring historical themes- often, from an unconventional approach.
This is because, as an Oxford-trained historian, I feel very comfortable in engaging with historical themes and topics and, so to speak, breathing new life into them.
My intention here is not to produce dry or commonplace history but, whenever possible, to look at it from a cross-disciplinary perspective, which usually involves the recruitment of literature, philosophy and artistic visions into a better appreciation of the past.
From time to time, I also provide coverage of value to professional historians, such as interviews with academics, book reviews and comments on source material.
If you find my manner of engaging with history to be interesting and insightful, please do subscribe to the newsletter, and I will be happy to produce more unexpected works in this domain.
