February 2023 is Irish Literature Month (and perhaps, some mysteries)
It's always been one of my favorite months- and this year, February's devoted to Irish writing
The cold, crystalline clarity of sublime February, with its great sweeping winds, blue skies and snow in the cold places while books and hot drinks await in the warm places, has always had a unique connection for me with Irish literature. In 2023, as I pursue a variety of new research, this is even more the case.
Throughout the month, I will share not only what certain February-born Irish writers have meant to me throughout my life and career, but also what current research I am working on right now concerning scholarly research on lesser-known aspects of Irish writing and the performing arts.
If I’m feeling particularly sanguine, I may also share some of my fiction from the old country- not just published stories, but previously unpublished ones too.
And, as the title of this article hinted at a foray into another, more mysterious topic- I may also offer that. We will see how it goes. More to come tomorrow!
To be or not to be, always remains the essential question. Tis noble to persevere, and hopefully rewarding.
